How to Hide Hair Extensions in Thin Hair: Expert Tips for a Natural Look
May 25, 2025
The golden rule: extensions should support your hair, not strain it. For fine hair, always choose lightweight wefts and clipless toppers with velvet grip bands instead of heavy clips.
Placement is everything. Position volumisers 2–3 cm away from the parting, and never clip directly onto thinning spots. Backcomb lightly at the roots for grip.
For toppers, match the base size to your thinning area — an oversized base creates a visible edge. Our smallest silk topper (2 x 2.5 inches) disappears into the hairline.
Finally, blend, blend, blend. A light trim by a stylist to merge your natural layers with the extension hair makes the difference between 'wiggy' and wow.
